Academic Administrator Review

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research (IE&R) will assist in the administrative review of academic administrators in their three-year review per policy 4.8.1 for the Annual Evaluation of Academic Administrators at Eastern Kentucky University.

IE&R has created an evaluation instrument to be used in all three-year reviews. This comprehensive evaluation includes participation and appraisal from all persons in a postition to express valid viewpoints in the performance of individual administrators. IE&R can assist by pulling direct reports of the administrator and sending to the administrator for verification. The administrator will have the opportunity to include additional persons, including but not limited to, colleagues and peers internal and external to the University.

Policy 4.8.1 also states that the College/Department assemble a Review Committee. This can be done independently, or IE&R can assist in creating a ballot for selection of faculty and/or staff to the review committee. 

IE&R will administer the evaluation form via email to all persons determined to be in a position to express a valid viewpoint on performance of the administrator. The form will be open for participants for a minimum two weeks. Once closed, IE&R will compile the results and provide the data to the Review Committee to complete their charge of compiling and summarizing the results for the administrator's supervisor and/or Provost.
